About

Plant Girl NYC started in 2020 in my parents’ kitchen in Manhattan, during the pandemic. I began experimenting with different dye techniques using whatever I had on hand, and quickly became fascinated with the process of transforming fabric by hand.

🌱

That same year, I had the chance to visit Tokushima, Japan, where I learned about traditional indigo dyeing and how the plant is grown and used. It deepened my interest in natural dyes and inspired me to keep exploring the history and technique behind them.

🌱

For a few years, I worked out of a shared studio in Bushwick, honing my skills and growing the brand. Now, I split my time between Manhattan and a new home studio space on Long Island, where I continue to create each piece myself in small batches.

🌱

Plant Girl is all about experimentation, process, and making wearable pieces that feel alive, one-of-a-kind, and made with care.
